More review coming soon.

I have owned this safe for 4 years, and it has always been hard to open, but eventually I could always get the electronic combination to work. Recently I tried to retrieve my passport and couldn't get the metal bolts to withdraw. The electronic keypad took the combination without difficulty (I even changed the batteries 3 times), and the open padlock icon showed in the LED display, but the telltale "click" that heralds withdrawal of the locking prongs was nowhere to be heard. I tried customer service at Sentry, but I had to call from work (on Monday) so I wasn't physically in front of the safe. Therefore the customer service rep was less than helpful, since she wouldn't reveal any of the later steps until I had tried the earlier ones. This was despite the fact that I had already tried the earlier steps the Sunday before and they didn't work. If she had told me that you have to whack the thing with a rubber mallet, I probably could have gotten it open much sooner. Indeed, when I banged the top left corner and the entire left front of the safe with a mallet, the telltale "click" was now audible after entry of the combination. So I offer this trick as a lifesaver to those owners who need immediate access to their recalcitrant boxes. By the way, I can't take credit for the "trick". Paul Benz's ("sunnyskys") earlier Amazon review tipped me off. Thanks, Paul.

Like many other people have, on Amazon, as well as other manufacturers, these boxes can lead to failure. I was lucky that mine failed out of the box, and I was able to return it and get my money back. Don 't buy these boxes, and ultimately, as reviewers who are not in a couple of months or years.

I bought this product 2 years ago. It worked well during the first year. It gave me problem opening the box during the second year, many entries to open. Now, hardly open unless I hit the box on upper left corner. I do not recommend this product.
