For years there have been efforts underway to create a. top level domain top music. Although I am not totally convinced as a TLD is really necessary, it was interesting to see the RIAA allergic reaction to the general idea. A year ago we wrote about how the RIAA complained that any top level domain somehow (oops!) is used to violate, and the argument that ICANN should not be allowed unless it is blocked completely. Apparently, the RIAA has now found the plan you want, take a position for a company called much further in trying to run. Music, and goes against the company that fought the hardest for. The music ... a company called dotmusic. If you want to understand why the RIAA supports well beyond the proposal is very simple:
Your . music will be limited in the same line as a gTLD. professional card carrying member of what the company calls

"Accredited members of the global community of music".

"It is open to everyone," said Styll. "You do not have to join an organization."

amateur bands will be members of an association of composers credited for musical direction., for example.
